Because we work primarily through our partner charities, we do not have volunteer opportunities in Guatemala that are coordinated through us. If you are interested in volunteering in Guatemala, please consider:
-Do you speak Spanish?
-How long are you available for volunteer work? Short-term assignments are difficult because of the up-front coordination, beginning orientation, and transition in/out that is involved.
Please keep in mind that volunteering in Guatemala is sometimes not the best option. We believe that immersion experiences, where volunteers or visitors learn about a different culture and way of life, is also very important. Before deciding on a volunteer experience in Guatemala (or any country), you may want to read this blog that gives one person’s perspective.
